Update – September 1, 2026 – Still No Contact

We want to share a brief update on our ongoing search efforts. We are doing everything we can, but there is no new information at this moment.
Here is what we have done over the last 24 hours:
• Ground Search (Dhunche): The person we sent to Dhunche reached today to check for updates on the ground. Unfortunately, they have not found any new leads.
• Tourist Police: We contacted their team directly, but they do not have any new details regarding our missing loved one.
• Nepal Police Foreign Division: We reached out to their specialized division, but they have no new entries or information to share yet.
• Embassies: We have been in communication with the relevant embassies, but they do not have any updates at this time.
• Lists: We are continuously monitoring all official emergency, rescue, and missing persons lists, but our loved one’s name has not appeared on any updated records yet.

We will continue to follow up with all these channels daily. Please stay strong, keep them in your prayers, and try to avoid spreading unverified rumors. The moment we receive any concrete or official information, we will share it with all of you immediately. Thank you for your endless love and support during this difficult time.

Update – August 31, 2026 – Still No Contact

We would like to provide you with the latest information regarding our missing group members and the efforts being made to locate them.

Hospital Follow-Up
We visited and made inquiries at several hospitals and medical facilities regarding our missing members, including:

* Teaching Hospital
* Bir Hospital
* Nepal Army Hospital, Chhauni
* Trauma centre

Unfortunately, our missing member’s details have not been found.

Coordination with Embassies
We have also contacted and are continuously following up with the relevant embassies and authorities of the following countries:

* United Kingdom
* United States
* Australia
* Malaysia
* Canada
* South Africa
* New Zealand

As of now, we have not received any confirmed updates from these authorities regarding our missing group members.

Last Known Location
The last communication we had with our guide was at 7:30 AM on August 26, 2026, at Timure. As per the conversation they were heading towards immigration area.

Timing
As you have seen many photos of our people walking in the landslide, the location of the landslide is Ghattekhola. From Ghattekhola to Nepal immigration is 5 minutes. From Nepal immigration to Nepal custom is 20 minutes. One side of the bridge is Nepal custom and opposite side of the bridge is china immigration.

Note: Exact location during the incident is unknown and we can only assume that they were around immigration area based on timings.)

Initiative from our side
We have been looking at the hospitals, following every government updated lists, coordinating with embassies, sending people to check as far as possible allowed (Search and rescue operations are strictly led by official state security forces, including the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police.) We are pressuring every tourism related entities such as Tourism board, Trekkers associations, Kailash tour operators association to focus on the missing tourists by forming dedicated teams.

– Same day of the incident our person went on helicopter to inspect the area but No signs or initial traces were located.
– A family member of the missing staff also joined a subsequent helicopter flight to personally inspect the location but was unable to gather any breakthrough information or visibility due to the nature of the terrain & debris.
– Today we sent our persons to Dunche but due to bad road condition they were not able to reach there and are staying in between. Tomorrow they will again try to reach Dunche.

We understand that everyone is extremely anxious and waiting for concrete information. Please be assured that our team is continuing to follow up with hospitals, authorities, embassies, rescue agencies, and other concerned contacts. Update – August 30, 2026 – Still No Contact

Meeting with Nepal Tourism Board: We have asked the board to create a dedicated portal where the status of foreign nationals can be checked by name. Currently, the only information available is a list of countries and a total headcount. Given the volume of emails, calls, and WhatsApp messages we’re receiving, misinformation has been spreading — a dedicated, official page for foreign nationals would help address this directly. Staff Home Visit: Today, we visited the homes of all five staff members to meet their families in person, hear their concerns, and offer our continued support.

Teaching Hospital Visit: We visited hospital again today to check on our missing guests and staff, but were told once more to check the police website for updates: https://udb.nepalpolice.gov.np/. However, the site is slow or unresponsive, and its search feature isn’t working properly. We are therefore also coordinating directly with the Nepal Tourism Board for the latest information.

Chitwan and Pokhara Visit: Today, we received information that appeared to match one of our missing staff members. However, upon reaching Pokhara, the hospital confirmed this was not the case.

Helicopter to Border: The situation remains difficult, with no safe location for helicopters to land.

We are deeply concerned about the 26 international guests travelling with our group.

We understand the enormous anxiety being experienced by their families and loved ones. Our team is working continuously with the relevant authorities, local teams, rescue personnel, and other concerned parties to obtain verified information regarding their safety and whereabouts.

Our Missing Staff Members

We are also deeply concerned about five of our Nepali guides and staff members, who have worked with Kailash Journeys for many years.

They have dedicated themselves to serving and supporting thousands of pilgrims travelling to Kailash Mansarovar. Their families are now facing an extremely difficult and uncertain situation.

We ask everyone to keep these five staff members and their families in their thoughts and prayers.
